Chin-augmentation

Chin augmentation may be the answer for those who feel their face is made less attractive by their chin. A weak chin can make a normal nose look bigger and an already prominent nose seem even larger. It can also make the neck look fleshier and even fatter. Chin augmentation is achieved by insertion of silicone implants or by fat grafting.

WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE?

Someone concerned with any of the following characteristics:

Birth defects
Facial trauma
Depressed chin

THE PROCEDURE

Chin augmentation is done under general or local anaesthesia. It is generally done as a day procedure. The incision is done inside the mouth.
A small space is created immediately over the chin bone and an anatomically shaped silastic implant is inserted. It is then sutured back.
In case of fat grafting, fat from elsewhere in the body is taken and injected back into the defective site.

RECOVERY TIME

The day of surgery, you can return home, and normal activities can be resumed a week later (Avoid strenuous exercise for three weeks).
